Spotlight on Jason
Over 22 years at TRADELINK

As a Company TRADELINK is very proud to boast a high number of longstanding staff members.
Seen above is Jason Wing now well into his 22nd Year at TRADELINK, and at factory floor level it’s fair to say that he’s pretty much done it all! Jason kindly agreed to give us an insight into his working ‘world’ in these unprecedented times.

What is your current role at TRADELINK?

I’ve had a few job roles over the years, but I’m happiest to be referred to as a Senior Fabricator and part of our factory team.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work?

I’m driven by a genuine passion for product quality and making things the best way they can be. Twenty two years of working at TRADELINK has offered me employment stability and in turn I feel a strong sense of loyalty.

What has changed most at TRADELINK post lockdown?

Being one of just a handful of staff back to work after the easing of lockdown mid-May was very strange in comparison with the dozens of staff normally on site. A lack of people reminded me of the early days when there was only a few staff at TRADELINK, the big difference then was only a few windows needing to be made per day!

What is the most demanding part of your current role?

Obviously complying with our ‘stay-safe’ working policy at all times is vital for everyone’s safety. We also have increased pressure at the moment from a lot of customer orders and rely heavily on suppliers delivering all of the components needed to keep producing without interruption on the factory floor.

What has been your favourite project so far?

I like a challenge, and being asked for my involvement setting up and understanding the capabilities of the Graf Seamless Welder in our Flush Casement factory has got to be the best project yet. Getting to grips with latest welding technology and programming along with creating a user friendly system for other factory staff to easily operate this machine.

What is the best thing about your job?

Being respected for my hands-on fabricating knowledge in most areas of our factories. It feels good helping to find solutions and keep contributing to the Company’s success.

And lastly, Who inspires you and Why?

Undoubtedly Ray, my father!  We both have a background of Carpentry.  Dad I can thank for his work ethos, and carpentry for a keen ‘eye-for-detail’.

A big THANK-YOU to Jason from all the Team at TRADELINK
