Arches all the rage

The birth of the latest royal baby, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor has seen a mixed reaction amongst the public and media, but we are seeing only love for all things ‘Archy’ coming out of our factory.

It seems that Archie is not just appealing to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but arches are all the rage, with the factory producing numerous arced frames each week and the popularity and production increasing.

In the past week alone we have produced arced casement windows for a church an aluminium door for an arched doorway and an arched PVC-u front door.

With an arch window, you often find that the bottom half of the window is rectangular in shape while the top includes the arched element or semi-circle.

As with the royal baby, arched windows are steeped in history and can be found in many regal locations. Arch shaped windows have long been used in architecture and design of buildings to bring a certain softness to a room. They can be fixed or jointed to enable them to be opened to allow in air. 

At Tradelink we are fully on board with the name Archie. but whatever your own personal thoughts on the naming of Prince Harry and the Meghan Markle’s first born, you surely cannot deny the beauty of our amazing arches?
